MONTHLY STOCK SELECTION METHODOLOGY
KINGDOM MINDSET INVESTING SCREEN
Stocks are selected using our 'M.A.D' methodology, or 'Moving Average Distance.' This is a computation whereby the expanding distance between our proprietary pair of moving averages - the pair being overlaid onto each stock in the indices shown, resulting in a 'Top 50' from each index - demonstrates a current 'breaking away' in performance by those stocks. (The Russell 1000 list is drawn not from the entire pool of 1,000 stocks, but rather the volume-screened Top 200; the Breakaway Top 50 for the Russell 1000 list is then derived from those 200.)
The combination of the two moving averages - the anchoring effect of the more long-term trend by the farther moving average, plus the indication of an emerging new trend via the closer moving average (with the new trend exhibiting a reasonably-quantifiable persistence) - tends to tamp down the spontaneous single-stock buying and selling that occurs when both bad market news, and good market news, coax an overreaction from stock traders.
This method aims to produce a more sound basis for stock picking vs. pure day-to-day price action.

Our Breakaway Stock list is screened monthly, prior to release, using a company called Kingdom Mindset Investing™. All stocks from the Russell 1000 and S&P 500 lists go through an initial screening from the BRI Institute to flag any stock that is triggered by one of KMI's 3 elimination categories. KMI then manually filters through the BRI screening on all flagged items to apply the Primary Mission screen to validate or override the flag.
‍
The 3 categories KMI employs are "Primary Mission" screens. That means that if the stocks, companies, and/or ETFs who's primary mission to exist meets one of the 3 elimination categories defined by KMI, they will not populate in our Breakaway Stock list.
